The Montafon and its many-sided possibilities
Montafon is considered one of the most beautiful holiday destinations of the Alps.
227 kilometers of slopes make the ski and snowboarding heart beat faster. 1100 kilometers of marked hiking trails offer the possibility to explore the mountains with or without the mountain railways for young and old. With around 270 kilometers of mountain bike and e-bike trails, the Montafon offers a variety of biker outings.
But also ski mountaineers and climbers will get their money's worth in the high alpine terrain of our valley.
Tips from Herbert
"In my spare time I like to travel in the Montafon mountains."
In recent years, I have learned to appreciate the power of nature and I enjoy spending my spare time in the mountains. Hiking and biking are among my passions. My colleagues and I are happy to provide our guests with tips and suggestions for tours. Here I have already summarized a few of my favorites for you. |
Highlights in Summer
Gantekopftour
The perfect half-day hike from the Versettlabahn mountain station over the Gantekopf to Garfrescha. From the Gantekopf you get a wonderful all-round view and can even review our hotel from the bird perspective. The hike is also suitable for less experienced hikers. Good footwear is nevertheless essential.

Wiesbadener Hütte
From the Silvretta Bielerhöhe you walk within 2.5 hours to the Wiesbadener hut at the foot of the highest mountain of Vorarlberg, the Piz Buin.
Once you arrive at the hut, you will admire the magnificent panorama of the surrounding 3,000s of the Silvretta. The way back to the Silvretta lake leads along a broad road.

The hike starts directly from our hotel and leads first to the Balbier waterfall. Afterwards, you will continue on to the maquis settlements (old traditional houses) of Sasarscha, Netza and Montiel. From there, go downhill to St. Gallenkirch, where the hike ends. Return to the hotel by bus or on foot.

Hightlights in Winter
From Latschau to LindauerhütteWhether you are on a touring skis or on foot, the hike to the Lindauerhütte represents one of the hightlights in summer and in winter. From Latschau you can go on a wide and groomed winter path to the hut. You can return either by foot or with the sled (my tip) brought along.
