Where our food comes from
Shorter transport routes, secure local jobs and strong partnerships with farming: we are proud of our home, and you can taste it. As a member of the bewusstmontafon association, we promote the cooperation between farmers and gastronomy in the valley.
Meat from Salzgeber
Fresh meat and sausage products from Montafon master butcher Salzgeber in Tschagguns, a third-generation family business.
Milk & alpine cheese from the region
Sura Kees, butter and cheese from Alpe Garnera, Ferdi’s farm shop and Alpe Innerkapell, with further dairy products from Ländle Milch.
Haubis bread
Freshly baked bread from 100% Austrian flour with no preservatives. Leftover bread goes to our Montafon stone sheep.
Fruchtexpress
High-quality fruit and vegetables delivered several times a week straight to our cold store, with regional varieties wherever possible.
Wines from Austria
House wines from Weingut Jordan in Pulkau: Alpenfeuer Rot and Alpenfeuer Weiß Riesling. Only Austrian wines appear on our list.
Coffee & tea with origin
Ammann Kaffee from the Bregenzerwald and teas from Sonnentor, with no artificial flavours and a focus on fair supply chains.

Sustainability does not start in a catalogue, it starts in everyday operations: with heating, electricity and water, and wherever guests can help decide every day.
Electricity from the region
30 kW of photovoltaics on the hotel roof plus 100% green electricity from VKW/Illwerke. LED throughout the house and key-card switches in the rooms.
Alpine spring water
Drinking water of regularly tested quality: refill your reusable bottles at our fountains instead of buying plastic bottles.
Water-saving housekeeping
Towel change only on request, biodegradable detergents, optional housekeeping waiver per tablet, and rainwater for the outdoor greenery.
Bee responsible
Bee partnership on the hotel roof
With support from Daniel Berger of the Ländleimker association, two bee colonies live on our flat roof, promoting plant diversity in the surrounding area. The honey they produce is available in the Montafon souvenir cupboard.

Avoid, separate, do better
Where waste is unavoidable, we separate it consistently. Where it can be avoided, we choose sustainable alternatives, from the breakfast buffet to the reception desk.
